To be enrolled in Tech Tikes Preschool, children must be three years of age and toilet trained. Sessions operate Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays closely following the ECTS school calendar. Preschoolers may attend either the morning session of preschool (8:30 AM until 10:30 AM) or the afternoon session (12:30 PM until 2:30 PM). It is suggested that the enrolled child attend all three days. A child may be enrolled at any time throughout the school year if there is an available space.

Tech Tikes Preschool, located within Erie County Technical School, is a laboratory preschool that promotes a high quality learning environment for children ages 3-5 years while providing hands-on educational opportunities for the high school students enrolled in Early Childhood Education. The preschoolers and the enrolled high school students are supervised at all times by the Early Childhood Education instructor.
The preschool is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, which is the largest accrediting organization for early learning programs.

During the two hour session of preschool, children are exposed to free play activities to promote social growth and development using dramatic play and choice time for investigating science based projects. Planned Circle time allows for reading comprehension activities and discussions, and Snack time encourages self-help skills. Active and gross motor activities are part of every day while songs, finger-plays and dancing are found throughout the entire session of preschool. In addition, the preschool adheres to the process art philosophy for time allowed for creativity and exploration.
