Subject: ECTS Land Purchase

Hi Mark,

Over the past two weeks, we have had two discussions with two groups regarding a potential land sale to the PSP.  On Aug. 28 the school board discussed and reported on discussions held in their respective school districts.  Other than the lack of a presence of a barracks in some of the communities, there was only one issue the ECTS school board asked the administration to address.  The board wanted the thoughts of the superintendents on the ‘strategic’ effect of selling land.

At a meeting on Sept. 5, the superintendents discussed a land sale to the PSP.  No ‘strategic’ issues were noted by the superintendents.  In fact, as did the ECTS school board, they thought locating a barracks next to the county public safety building made sense.  The superintendents agreed to recommend to the ECTS school board that ECTS and the PSP continue to work together on a potential land sale.

We will put a resolution on the Sept. 25 ECTS Board agenda to continue to work with the PSP on a land sale.  The resolution will simply mean there is interest in negotiating a sale.  I’m sure there is a whole lot more to go through on your end.  Please let me know if the Sept. 25 resolution will meet your needs or if there is something else that will be more helpful.  If there is someone from your staff that would like to attend the meeting on Sept. 25, I would encourage it.  It’s not necessary, but would be helpful if there are any last minute questions.

If there is anything else we can do, please let me know.

Regards,

Aldo
