Portfolio Guidelines
Required Criteria:
A table of contents page
A cover letter written by the student
An up-to-date resume
A minimum of two letters of reference
Samples of work or photos of work representing a
variety of skills. Quantity to be established by the instructor
Evidence of student reflection-examples may include
self-evaluation, personal philosophy, code of ethics, mission
statement, etc.
Professional Skills Development (Leadership)
certificates
Material will be presented in a professional looking
binder using plastic sheet covers. Work will be typed where possible
Students will do an oral presentation as specified by
the instructor
Optional Criteria:
Job shadowing narrative and/or photos
A videotape of student work
Photographs of the student working on a project
Any awards/certificates earned during high school
Co-op experience information which may include monthly
assessments, a co-op journal or narrative
Evidence of community service
A list of potential employers
A list of potential post-secondary education
opportunities
Articulation agreement information
Students that do not complete the portfolio
per the teacher's specifications will not:
Earn a certificate from the
Participate in the annual Awards Ceremony
Receive credits that would have been earned at the
No second-quarter Co-op placements will be offered to
students that have not completed their portfolio
